some days you just need to look a beautiful bouquet of flowers
I realize I never post photos of my dogs on here, which is strange since they are such a huge part of my life
Miss Nola Roux:
(born June 2011 [this is a guess... she was found in Lancaster Desert in June 2012]. I adopted her from the awesome Los Angeles-based dog rescue, Jimi's Angels in September 2012) [aussie-doodle mix]
(born December 10, 2014, adopted from the amazing Los Angles-based dog rescue, Lange Foundation in December 2015) [mini-goldendoodle mix]
Happy New Year, y'all! Sorry I've been mad late in telling you guys that. So rude. I'm not one to make new years resolutions. But this year I wanna take a page from the late and great, Lee Dorsey. This year "Everything I do gonna be funky (from now on)." I made the above print after a long ass day of listening only to Lee Dorsey's classic NOLA R&B sound. Enjoy!

This has been a crazy year, so I haven't been able to get into as much new music as I would have liked to. But that said I still have a great top for y'all!
Let's start with the albums...
OST: Hamilton: If I am honest since September I've really only listened to Hamilton. i mean sure there were other things playing, but Hamilton got me through some long ass commutes from school and back. Not much more to write about this amazing piece of art. Genius! Favorites: Nonstop, Stay Alive, Washington on Your Side, Wait for It, Yorktown.. fuck the whole thing!
Sufjan Stevens, Carrie and Lowell: This album left me utterly destroyed. Stevens wrote it about his estranged relationship with his mother. She passed away from cancer, and this album is about that as well. It is a heartbreaking piece of art that never fails to make me tear up. Every song on the album is amazing and haunting. Favorites: Carrie and Lowell, The Only Thing, and No Shade in the Shadow of the Cross.
Lianne La Havas, Blood: This summer I was obsessed with this album. Ask around! It was all I was listening to. This album is just filled with joy and heartbreak and everything in between! Favorites: What You Don't Do, Midnight, and Tokyo.
Father John Misty, I Love You, Honeybear: Just a super fun album that I couldn't stop listening to. Favorites: Ideal Husband, I Love You, Honeybear, and The Night Josh Tillman Came to Our Apartment.
Beach House - Depression Cherry: I am a big fan of all their albums. They always deliver stellar music. Favorites: Levitation and Space Song.
